Friday, June 23, 2006 @ 12:58 PM

hey everyone!!! so few people are blogging nowadays tsk tsk hee hee ok welcome back Bev!!! It was fun seeing you again on wed after your long long holiday...is sara back too? Bev: is the exercising thing at your house still on? i seriously need to get my chunky thighs moving again i don't even exercise once a week anymore!!! hee hee ok but just to let you know, i'm working next monday...just 1 day as a receptionist at my aunt's company so please choose another day k haha thanks. So anyway wed was quite fun... we had dinner at coffee club at paragon to celebrate doreen's birthday then went to the Balcony for drinks. I was so shocked to see denise...why? because she was EARLY!!! hee hee yes i was 15 mins late and when i got there, she and bev were already waiting! haha good job denise keep it up :):) haha oh and there was a really funny incident involving bel and hair and the waiter. Bel found a strand of hair in her country pie so she decided to tell the waiter( ie complain). However the waiter just stood there looking at her and didnt do or say anything...that was a long moment of awkward silence ahhaha the waiter either didn't understand english or didn't seer what the big deal was or was inexperienced so didn't know how to react...i think it was all of the above. Finally another waiter came and when bel told him about the hair incident he promptly took it away and offered her a new plate. haha i think they felt bad about the whole thing cause after doreen cut her cake they gave us a plate with 5 scoops of ice cream for free!!! haha but we were way too full to finish it...after dinner as we were leaving the place, this old man approached me and asked me in chinese how to get to orchard mrt station. Miss tuna tan: i didnot hesitate because i didn't know how to speak chinese k...i was too distracted by the blood dripping from his face... ya this old man was well....queer. I'm not being mean here k it's just that he was really disorientated and was in a trance like state... when we found out where he was going, bel suggested he take a bus instead and we offered to wlk him to the bus stop. That's when we tried to pay us for our help...we politely declined but he kept pushing it to us...finally we just said no thanks and quickly walked away haha... yup so that's half of what happened that night... the rest will have to wait! lunch time!!!! steff

@ 11:17 AM

i'm finally done with my exams!!!
and i'm coming home!
i'll be in Singaland by Monday morning at 6am!

pictures from inez's birthday lunch at cedele :) ps. spot the monkey faces! there a good total of four inclusive of the balloon hee

yes hongkong was lots and lots of fun! let's go for a holiday too girls! before waimay jas and doreen leave us :(

inez! i'm getting kwite worried about ipho! it's a good ten plus days away from home :( and i'll be missing mo's birthday even :'( and i still haven't mastered the dance! and i don't even know if i'll do my job well as a tour guide! sigh :( so anyway, is zouk still on?

and i'm getting terribly worried just thinking about my driving test! everyone seems to be failing their driving recently, maybe june's a cursed month! and may seems to be a rather good month cos grace passed! so let's say it's an alternate thing. then july would be a good month and august would be a terrible month! and that's me! wahaha this is so rubbish..

oh well time's passing way too fast. soon ipho's gonna be over, then my driving test will be over, then school would've started. and i'm gonna be antisocial! hahaha.. okay maybe not antisocial, but i'm really tired of socializing. i hate the getting-to-know-you part.. and i just feel like isolating myself when i go to uni. like just sit in one corner and eat my lunchbox kinda thing hahaha.. k enough of nonsense, hope to see you girls soon! :)

Hey everyone!! We're back from Hong Kong! Hong Kong is seriously a shopping paradise. Out of 5 days 4 days shopping and 1 day Disneyland. We even missed our half-day tour that was included in the package to go shopping. Madness! Even Wallce Chin the MCP was swayed by us shopaholics (us included Darren and Moses). Haha. The only problem now is I'm broke, but considering the amount of things i bought i guess it'll last me the whole year. Yayy! For more updates on our Hong Kong trip, stay tuned to bel's entry. I'm sure she'll tell you all more. I'm too lazy to recount everything..Ha ha.
Anyway, on waimay's request, I shall update you all on my good news..which has turned into a dilemna. Haha. Well, basically i cant decide whether to go to UK or Australia. And the worst thing is MOH has approved my request to change my sector of study from UK to Australia. Jas is bent on goin King's and it'll be great if i could go with her, but the prob is im not really sure if they'll allow me to change back to UK. But then again i really dun mind goin Australia cos it's nearer to home and much easier for loved ones to visit..Sigh..Aunt Annie are you out there? Haha.
Oh, all the people who have taken their driving test, be it pass or fail..im sure u have useful tips for me. Haha. My test is in a week and i havent booked revision lessons yet!! I really hope i can pass..I guess the worst thing that can happen to me is mounting the curb on an innocent turning when i have cleared all the other obstacles. It has happened to me many times before, esp at times when im too sure of myself..then *blomp*..up the curb and down again. Haha.

Inez: Naughty naughty..goin clubbing eh..especially on my birthday. Hee :)
Sarah: Hey all the best for your exams! London sounds like great shopping..Mmmm..I dont mind stuff from top shop or FCUK. Heh heh.
Unice: Sounds like more shopping for people living in a country with four seasons..yeah? Heh heh..
Crap..guess i havent recovered from all that shopping madness yet. Oh no..
Gonna sleeeeep now. Nites everyone. Or whoever's there.

Hi girls!

Picture from our movie outing today! I dont have a picture with steph cos she was the one taking the photo haha sorry steph. Anyway we watched' she's the man'. You all should watch! it's quite hilarious! and considering i dont like amanda bynes, that says alot! haha. its more of the stupid laugh out loud type of humour though. but our whole cinema was laughing! haha. First time at the new cathay cinema. was really nice and new and classy looking though alot of the shops still weren't open heh.

this was my second movie in 3 days by the way. cos my boss was away! (: (: haha. watched cars on tuesday. which i thought was just very very average but everyone else i've spoken to says its fantastic. i can't help that i've got superior taste right HAHAHA. okay i'm feeling quite retarded now haha. but i haven't totally been slacking either k! i still have work to do so couldnt' go play badminton and go bowling like i wanted to.. nvm next week!

waimay: haiyoh why so kancheong. we'll be providing bed, bedsheet and pillow. pillow cos i'm not sure but i'm quite certain that it'll just be ONE and not 2 for your funny sleeping habits haha. Bedsheets will be washed once during the olympiad but of course you're more than welcome to bring your own stuff if you dont mind carying them hahaha. and hello please stop writing "ip*o" in your entries cos they'll be traced by my colleagues who google "ip*o" to find out what pple say. so stop! if they read what i'm saying now i bet they'll be laughing like mad la. too bad haha.

okay hong kong girls, when you read this you should be back so we'll go out again next week k. yay. hope you had a good trip! (:

@ 8:54 PM

abt ipho...

inez, are we provided with blankets and pillowS? cos i sleep with min 2 pillows- one for my feeet and one for my head. o and can we bring our own like comforter and alll? hahaha o nooo. part of me want to stay in hostel cos i think it is gonna be funn at night. but the thought of sleeping on some ulu blanket and mattress with bed bugs is turning me offf.

sarah: ipho basically starts on 3rd and stretches to 17th (or 18th). and only for the first 3 days, we have a choice of whether we want to sleepover at ntu or come out. the rest of the days, we will be camping near malaysia.

inezzzz are you very sure that tajiskistanians know english?!? i seriously think they only think they know english! cos looking at the script you guys gave us to memorise for the ipho, i highly doubt they'l understand what the hell i'm talking abt. it is toooo chim for them. i reallly think they will be struggling throughout my tours. no wait, I WILL be struggling to deliver the tour since the most likely response i'm gonna get is 4 extremely constipated expressions.

haiz, theres a new comer to my shop tomorrow. and guesss whatt... another aunty. seriously, at this rate, i'm gonna turn into a old rickety grumpy grannny myself. being around 4 aunties 9 hours a day is enough to leave permanent damages to my brain neurones...maybe the next time u guys see me, i bet you all are gonna comment on how slow i take to get a joke or how slow my movements are. arghhhhh i'm no longer gonna be that youngful, energetic, agile minded person. hahahahaha

okokkk i better go now.

Tuesday, June 13, 2006 @ 11:54 PM

Hi everyone!!! It's me again haha i just came back from my church camp( it's more of a retreat) about 6 hours ago. It lasted for only 2 days and 1 night but that's more than enough cause we had to sleep on the hard floor and when i slept curled up on 1 side, i woke up this morning with painful hip joints! i'm serious k the joint connecting my left thigh to the hip is a bit loose so if it is slightly out of place it can be extremely uncomfortable and slightly painful. haha i feel so old saying that...
Shang: we really must meet up next week since i can't go for dinner on thursday. I'm free the whole week so just decide which day and inform me k? haha look forward to finally seeing you again. i think the last time we met was at modestos in July last year...my oh my that's practically 1 year ago!!!
Sarah: All the best for your exams!!!! I'm sorry i actually forgot that you were having your 'A's...terrible terrible. I'll definitely be praying for you so God bless! don't think of your shopping in london now...focus...YOU CAN DO IT :):):) all the best!!!
Anyway so tmr i'm going down to NUS with grace again this time to sign up for the hostel thing. Hopefully grace tuna and i can get into the same dorm/house( whatever it is called) then it'll be more fun!!! haha i guess it' time for me to grow up sigh must learn to be more independent... hee hee i think i may end up as one of those uni slobs who go for class in shabby clothes...i highly doubt i'm going to wake up earlier to dress up man esp since all my classes begin at 8AM EVERYDAY!!! yes i have my timetable already and oh boy....
Unice: i think no need to help me buy teeth whitening stuff la...i'll most likely learn how whiten teeth and hopefully my classmates will have to praactice on me then it's free!!! haha thanks for checking up on it though really appreciate your concern over my teeth and body hair :) hee hee really thanks.
ok i better go to sleep now otherwise cannot wake up early tmr!

Monday, June 12, 2006 @ 7:00 PM

WAIMAY: im so happy nadal beat federer!hahaha...even though i dont like nadal either haha but its nice and refreshing to see other ppl (besides roger federer) win grand slams hahah:) federer just dominates the game it gets so boring to watch his other matches
anyway ppl dont make noise while hitting the ball to intimidate their opponents pls!hahaha.they do it from the sheer force of hitting the ball..FYI i think i make noises too just not as loud haha
anyway i hope bel jas and doreen are enjoying themselves in HK!
and on a side note ive decided to stay in singapore for uni!yup happy for jas and doreen though!:) cheer up bel hehes
OH and i almost got into an accident today on the PIE was trying to change lane and almost hit this lorry cos i didnt check my blindspot:S

Hey hey my lovelies!!!!

How is everyone doing?? i'm just about still alive... my exams started last week... got a hell of a week this coming monday and then a break and then another hellish day... i think i'm stitting a grand total of more than 6 hours of exams on my last day... 2 papers of chem in the morning and then an econs essay paper in the afternoon....

and then after all that... it's off to london for me for a week!!!! Can't wait can't wait can't wait!!!! It's the london summer sale at the moment... a bit like e great singapore sale... so yup yup... sigh top shop here i come... i've been cooped up in this god forsaken place for so long... i don't think i know how to live in the real world anymore!!!!! *grin* ok now i'm being a little dramatic...

so what's up with all of you?? Unice you sound like you having a damn nice time... haha i must visit you one of these days in america... see what it's like at your uni... to waimay... seriously... take unice's advice... i do my own laundry and everything... so trust me machine washable clothes are the mos timpt things that have ever been created... after a while even my hand wash clothes go into the machine... seriously... you get damn lazy whe you have to do it yourself.. i think after the first week here... i even stopped ironing my clothes... haha now my whole wardrobe is machine washable and iron free... if the lable says otherwise i don't buy it.

anyway do any of you want anything from london?? i think uk brands like topshop, H&M, Urban outfitters, FCUK, River island... etc.. are a lot cheaper here... especially during sale periods... so if you guys desperately want something juz drop me a line...

well gotta dash... i'm horrible behind in my revision... 3 more weeks juz 3 more weeks to freedom...

cheers
sarah

Friday, June 09, 2006 @ 1:56 PM

hey hey everyone,

i'm doing all right here in provo.
just been doing alot of projects.
my current on is doing a 3 page website
for my info. systems class. it's hard!
have to do the html crap, all the codes.

so it's 12am fri now.
was bored so i made cupcakes(from box),
and mango pudding(powder). yum.
cupcakes with frosting on top.
go back make for all of you. haha how
hard can it be.

no class tomorrow cos my teacher
cancelled. and jeffrey does not want to
watch the new movie CARS with me.
damn.

waimay: you sure you wanna know what
i wear? i wake up before 6am every
morning cos of practice. i just grab
watever i see into my bag. i don't wear
make-up to sch cos it's just too tiring
to do that after training. trust me,
we look much better than the american
girls w/o make-up.

Fall- jeans, tees, sneakers, sweatshirt.
utah is alot colder than cali. i would
suggest cute tees, polos, long-sleeved
shirts and long skirts. boots and skirts
work too.
Winter-my beloved UGGs!! you probably
don't need them cos it's for really cold
weather. but beanies, gloves, sweatshirt,
waterproof jacket are necessary. get
those with hoods too. i layer like a tee,
a light jacket and a thicker one outside.
Spring-it's so hot. short/long shorts.
spags, sandles..

some things to note:
1. branded clothes are about the same
unless you go to factory outlets
2. get clothes that are easy to wash.
no ironing cos i can't be bothered.
clothes tt can be out in the dryer!
3. you won't usually wear heels cos
you have to walk from class to class.
4. alot of jeans here. abercrombie,
express, hollister.

LOVE U-Nice

Thursday, June 08, 2006 @ 11:11 PM

i'm having a terrible headache! haha oh dear, i think i've really been too much of a bumming pig that i'm not even used to being out for long now! so anyway, waimay audrey steph grace & i were at audrey / grace's places to practise our i*ho dance item [advice from inez not to spell out ip*o anymore please cos people google and find our site!] haha so anyway the dance was so super complicated la. i'm a serious clutz! hee and i took grace's car today! woohoo i'm still well and alive :) hee k fine grace's kwite a good driver actually :) haha

met mo after that, and girls! i'm a fat mama now, after downing that HUGE carl's junior burger.. omg i seriously pigged out. you know everytime i go out with mo i just have this big urge to just eat anything and everything.. cos no1. i don't have to pay for it, no2. he actually pigs out along with me. so we're pretty bad influence for each other haha

so anyway the purpose of this post is to invite everyone for our mini shopping trip tomorrow! we'll be meeting at three orchard mrt kkk :) waimay, sorry i don't think i'll be having lunch with you hee.. my mum wants me to lunch in before i go out :(

shang, i can't make it for dinner next thursday :( cos i'll be in shopping paradise hongkong! :)

@ 7:31 PM

everyone pls update us on ur life. like doreee and grace, pls share your goood news. tuna, pls share your nightmare during your driving test. shang, what on earth are you doing now. sara and bevvvyyy... do you guys have access to internet?!? hahaha hurrryr people... update us on everythinggg...

k anw. unice, are imported european brands like misssixty, armani exchange, birkenstocks etc brands cheaper in the states or singapore? o and you know my colleague told me that maxstudio is cheaper in singapore than in the states even though it is from the US (cos apparently the singapore buyer pitched the prices slightly lower than US's prices)?!? sheeshhhhh so yea, quick telll me allll abt these stuffff. i'd like to save a few dollars here and there.

does anyone know where to get nice not-100%-cotton junk tees? ive decided that for 5/7 days in uni each week, i'm prob gonna wear tee and pants/jeans. hahaha going for lecture dont need to wear so fancy la. and like i dont like 100% cotton tees cos after a fewmachine cold wash, the neck hole gets bigger, the shape just goes out of shape. hahaha very annoying esp when you love that shirt so much. guess fac outlet shirts reallly suck. i got like 5 from the states and alllllll of them are so grossly out of shape. a bit of spandex or nylon with cotton would be ideal..something like those giordano (howvere you spelll that) shirts, i love them...tooo bad they only come in mono colours.

o yes, unice, what do you wear (and what does everyone in your sch wear) to tutorials/lectures during fall/autuum/winter/spring/summer??? hahahaa see la, going to a country with four seasons is even more taxing on the brains. gotta plan for alll seasons. crap, i only got june to plan my wardrobe cos in first half of july i'm gonna be locked up in some isolated ntu and second half of july is dedicated to work (yes, no off days at alll...working for 15 consecutive 9hours shift days- i'm seriously gonna drop dead by the end of july) and early aug, gotta rush off to see my relatives in malaysia....oh my oh my. and everyone, it is finalised, i'l be leaving on national day, 5pm!!!!

haha you know i was filling up my room mate questionaire and guess what. i said i'm the type who must have her bed made every day and that a neat and tidy room is the number one most impt factor when it comes to choosing a room mate. hahahaha my room mate is in for a nasty little surprise. no la, i just hate bad smell from dirty laundry and uhhh dried up, half eaten fruits. hahaha ironic huh, for those unlucky souls who got a glimpse of my postexam room state 2 years back will know how unfortunate my room mate is. o dear o dear. but i just cant stand other people's dirty laundry alll over the floor cos some people dont care how smelly their clothes are...a nice smelling room is V V V impt to me. tooo bad they didnt havwe that in the questionaire.

kk moving on... guess what? renuka is welll alive! ha ha graccie, ahem, class chairman of 4a2 '03.... you dont need anymore hints and nags...all you need to do is pick up your phone now and dial uh 23 no. (right?) !!!!!!! updates on a fellow ex 4a2 student: renuka is currently loafing around in singapore until next year.in 2007, she'l be leaving for the paradise country of australia to read english and mathematics at an undisclosed university on a moe teaching scholarship.

kk dinner time. bye people!!!

here are the pictures from saturday night! enjoy :)

@ 9:05 PM

since inez requested for a writeup on ac idol, i shall do it but be prepared for lots and lots of criticisms and complaints hahaha

okay let's start with the good parts
  1. the setup was really nice, they had a stage thingy and the lights were done up kwite nicely :)
  2. it was supposed to be sorta good cos it was a combined thing? ya so like lots of people turned up
  3. uhmmm it was good to be back in ac! haha ya i think that's about all

now, brace yourself.

  1. the sound system was SO bad! you had to cringe everytime they hit the high notes cos it would suddenly boom in your ears. like even the most intune note would sound offtune
  2. the opening no was supposed to be kwite good at the beginning, when ethel and joseph were doing their solos, but when everyone joined in, my oh my...
  3. the emcees sucked SO BAD! the guy, matthew chek hardly spoke at all. the girl, spoke too much, and spoke so much crap, not to mention the 'jokes' she cracked of which would be echoed by sniggering [cos the audience was sniggering at HER]
  4. the judges! haha okay the comments are alright, constructive, in fact i think lifeng and the glenn guy gave the best comments. BUT there was also some acs international MUSIC TEACHER on the panel, and like they got him to put up a performance in between the two rounds of competition.. omg he was SO out of tune it was incredibly unbelievable, as in all of us seriously thought it was a joke! like he was gonna snap out of it and say 'okay heres the real thing' or something. but NO! like wth the whole world was laughing out loud can you believe it? cos he wasn't just a semitone out of tune, he was at least three keys off! OMGOODNESS, someone should advice the acs international principal to do an assessment of their teachers
  5. the singers! k uhm i don't think i should be mean about the singers, as in i guess they were all alright. as in like they've got kwite decent voices, but the standard was definitely way below last year's.. cos like one of the best, joseph yong, was actually one of those who got rejected during the auditions last year. and like ethel was the best amongst them already, whilst last year, she was completely overshadowed.. so ya you can go figure the standards of the competition this year. [btw our official acs idol of the year is a sec two indian boy from barker!]

okay i think that's enough of complaining and criticizing haha oh well, someone asked me how bad was the acs idol and i said ' well it was worse than singapore idol', draws the picture kwite well for you already right? hahaha

anyway girls! doreen, jas and i are leaving for hongkong next week! with some of our ac guyfriends hee :)

@ 5:37 PM

HEY!!! well it has been some time since my last entry so here i am... Unice: did you seriously get married in the chapel? like sign documents and stuff? haha i honestly hope not. Yesterday's dinner went quite well haha considering only 5 of us could come. At first it was only grace and i cause bevy was late then denise came even later when we had all finished eating and sara was the latest but she was not eating so yeah sad right? haha all pok geh's fault... but it was fun catching up with them esp since bev and sara are leaving soon for like 3 weeks. Sara & Bev: Have a great great fun holiday!!!! so today grace and i went to NUS to do the rest of our health checkup. The queue for the X ray was so super long we almost thought that we would have to come back another day for the pee test. The worst thing about taking the X rays was that we had to take off our tops and whatever that was underneath ie your bra and wear this dark blue slightly translucent disposable shirt in a room full of people. Poor conservative me felt so uncomfortable la ok ok grace felt the same way too but the other girls were so at ease with being braless even when there were guys around tsk tsk... thankfully the X rays finished before the lunch hour so we were able to do the pee test too haha. After peeing into the cup i was handed, i suddenly stopped and wondered if the cup was meant for me to drink water with to induce myself to pee. It is rather embarrassing to walk around with a cup of pee but luckily there weren't many people around. The lady then stuck some indicator stick into my pee and said that the results were VERY GOOD hahaha... Then when we were about to leave, Grace said we could collect our Hep B test results too. That's when i found out that my immunity level was a bit low and that i needed a booster shot. Grace unfortunaely had no immunity heh so the poor girl has to take all 3 shots...be brave gracy!!! yup that's about all see ya :)
